The overturning of Roe v. Wade is a huge milestone and victory in our nation; but I also know it is a very tough conversation for so many, including Christians. I want to encourage those who have had abortions and repented to not be consumed with shame and guilt. I have had abortions and I felt at the time I was doing what was right. I was blinded by the rhetoric that it was not a baby. Psalms 139:15-16 annihilates that lie, “When my bones were being formed, carefully put together in my mother's womb, when I was growing there in secret, you knew that I was there— you saw me before I was born. The days allotted to me had all been recorded in your book before any of them ever began...”
It has been years since I gave my heart to the Lord and truly repented for what I did. He has mercifully lifted the condemnation and entrusted me enough to steward the lives of five amazing adults. I want to point out that it does not just affect women, it affects men as well. I prayed for a man that was guilt-stricken because his girlfriend had an abortion when they were younger. As I watched him weep, I reminded him that the Lord is faithful to forgive. Micah 7:19 says, “He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities, and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
For 50 years our nations has sacrificed our babies on the altar of sensuality and convenience; this has been done for centuries. Roe v. Wade is not punishment for extenuating circumstances like rape, incest, molestation, or preserving the life of the mother. This is abortion as BIRTH CONTROL. The lie about Roe v. Wade is Jane Roe never had an abortion, her daughter recently spoke out about how this decision affected her. Roe v. Wade was about an ideology, population control, a racist agenda (eugenics), and psychological abortion. We see throughout the Bible when God was raising up a deliverer those in political power began to slaughter the babies.
I want to share a blog that I wrote back in June of 2020 because I believe it is pertinent to where we are now. Let us continue to pray for the will of God to be established in our nation. You can access the article at the link below;
